Did you know about the Greek Film Week?
The Greek film week is the longest-running and most successful Greek film event in Germany, as well as the most successful within the Greek diaspora in Europe.
Our commitment
Longevity: The event has been running for 38 years, allowing it to build a strong reputation and loyal audience.
Quality programming: The festival presents a carefully curated selection of quality Greek films, including classics and contemporary works that appeal to a wide audience.
Our spotlight in 2024: This year we are highlighting the festival’s focus on powerful female characters. Our programme presents and revolves around the theme of women’s empowerment in different cultural and social contexts.
Industry Connections: The Film-Event has developed strong relationships with filmmakers, industry professionals and organisations within the Greek and German film industries, helping to ensure a high quality programme and excellent networking opportunities.
Venue and Location: The festival will take place in Munich, a city with a strong cultural scene and a large Greek community, and will be held in prestigious venues, adding to its prestige and appeal.
The Audience
The main audience is made up of 40% Greeks, 40% Germans and 20% of other nationalities. Greek Film Week provides a unique platform for cultural exchange and dialogue between Greeks, Germans and all the other nationalities that participate.
In addition, the presence of foreign participants demonstrates the broader international appeal of Greek cinema and its ability to resonate with audiences from different backgrounds.
