The film “It’s a Long Road” tells three unrelated stories about people living in the Greek provinces who are confronted with difficult decisions, loneliness, and personal crises. Although the stories are different, they all explore the human need for freedom, dignity, and a fresh start.

To mark its 40th anniversary, Greek Film Week is honoring two directors who have made significant contributions to its founding, continuation, and consolidation – both through their personal presence and through their work and tireless support.

Pantelis Voulgaris, born in Athens in 1940, is one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Greek cinema. From “Το Προξενιό της Άννας/ A Groom for Anna” and “Τα Πετρινα Χρόνια/ Stone Years” to “Μικρά Αγγλία/ Little England” and “Το τελευταίο σημείωμα/ The Last Note,” his work powerfully explores human relationships while linking the personal with historical memory.
